About Dr. Collins

I am a licensed clinical psychologist providing therapy to adults and couples navigating periods of transition, uncertainty, and change. I approach our work together as a collaborative, thoughtful process—one that honors both emotional depth and practical clarity. My approach integrates mindfulness, evidence-based practices, and an appreciation for the mind–body connection. While therapy can be challenging at times, my goal is to offer a steady, supportive space where exploration feels possible and meaningful.

Many clients I work with are in periods of transition — including college and early adulthood — and are seeking clarity, steadiness, and self-trust.

Originally from Chicago, IL, I earned my doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology in 2010. I spent the following 10 years in San Antonio, TX, maintaining a private practice while working as the Supervisor of the Mental Health, Assessment, & Triage Unit for the Juvenile Probation Department, and as the Training Director for the doctoral internship program.

In my role as Training Director, I worked closely with doctoral interns during the capstone of their doctoral degree as they transitioned from students into “whole people” (as one former resident put it). I found this stage of development especially meaningful, and these kinds of transitional moments—times when identity, responsibility, and direction are shifting—are central to the work I now focus on in private practice.

My clinical experience spans a wide range of settings, including community mental health, residential and hospital environments, private practice, and diagnostic work with children and adolescents. Across these roles, I’ve been especially drawn to helping people make sense of internal “shoulds,” long-standing patterns, and the transitions that invite deeper self-understanding.

In my free time, I enjoy exploring hiking trails, cozying up with a good book, working out, and spending time with my kids, dogs, and husband. I consider myself lucky to be able to call both Chicago and San Antonio “home.”
